The short story " In which Are You Going, Where Were you? ” authored by Joyce Carol Oates was quite interesting. Even though it was fiction, I believe which it could be based on a true history. There are times that young girls get themselves into scenarios that they think they cannot avoid. This account is a perfect example of why teenage girls should try and avoid being in harm's method. In this essay I will be talking about Connie as she looks in the tale and describing her explanation for submitting to Arnold Friend. Connie was a thin girl using firm dark blondish hair and thought of very little as being extremely beautiful. The girl had a bit of pep with her walk, like she was bouncing over a trampoline as she wandered around all over the place. She was a very happy and enthusiastic woman unless the girl was with her family members. She experienced as though your woman was not adequate in her mothers' eye and was always getting picked on and compared to her older sister. For example , her mom might say, " Why don't you keep your room clean like your sister? ” (Oates 436) The girl enjoyed stepping out of the house as often as your woman could and she would navigate to the shopping center with her friends where they will sneak across the street to a cafe where the old kids will hang out. The lady was under no circumstances the same person she pretended to be at your home. She would take action and outfit one way at your home, but when she went out your woman was liberated to express their self. In the beginning of the story, like the majority of teenage girls, she played hard to get with a young man. She connected eyes with him once she was out with her friends one evening.
